There comes a time in everyone’s lives when they just get obsessed with reality TV shows. Most of the times we know it is fake, we know Kim got the implants but we still watch show just for the sake of entertainment.
These shows may use real people and real situations, but the events and dialogue are often planned or rehearsed in advance. Some fake reality shows may be entirely fictional, with actors playing the roles of “real” people.
Reality shows have been popular for many years, and often use the same format such as competing with contestants for prizes or fame. But sometimes reality shows are carefully planned and rehearsed.
While some people (me being one of those people) enjoy watching fake reality shows for entertainment, others criticize them for being dishonest and misleading which no doubt they are. But come on, I am not going to spoil my entertainment just because the real housewives’ fights were not real. I’m going to watch it while having popcorn!

1. The Real Housewives

This franchise has multiple versions, each focusing on a group of wealthy women living in a specific city. While the show is presented as a reality show, it has been widely reported that the events and dialogue are often planned or rehearsed in advance.

2. American Idol

American Idol kind of gave way to reality TV. We were introduced to reality shows through American Idol. It really hurts to know it might not be as real as it looked. Those tears were just glyserine 🙁

3. The Hills

This show followed the lives of young people living in Los Angeles and was presented as a reality show, but it was later revealed that many of the events and dialogue were planned in advance.

4. Keeping Up With The Kardashians

This show follows the lives of the Kardashian family and has been widely criticized for being fake and scripted. But no matter what, I LOVE watching it. Not idiolising them but damn they are entertaining.

5. Big Brother

This show, in which a group of people live together in a house and are voted out by their peers, has been accused of being fake due to the fact that the contestants are isolated from the outside world and the events in the house are heavily produced, emphasis on the heavily.

6. Jersey Shore

This show followed a group of young people living together and partying in New Jersey. While the show was presented as a reality show, it was later revealed that some of the events and dialogue were planned or rehearsed in advance.

7. Survivor

This long-running reality show, in which contestants are stranded on a deserted island and compete in challenges to win a cash prize, has also faced allegations of scripting and manipulation of events.

8. “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette

These dating shows, in which a single person is presented with a group of potential romantic partners, have been accused of scripting and manipulating events to create drama and increase viewership. One of the most fake reality tv shows and also the cringiest!

9.  Cupcake Wars

In this show, the contestants knew what task was going to be given to them.

A few years later after the finale of cupcake wars. a user on Reddit spoke out, revealing that while the competitors of each season were supposed to be faced with the challenge of creating great cupcakes with a surprise list of ingredients, they were allegedly tipped off in advance.

10.  The First 48

According to a Reddit post by a “former shooter/producer” on the show, “We dont [sic] really pick and choose what episodes we follow, a team of shooter/producers literally live out in each county and respond to EVERY homicide 24/7. Kicker is not ALL cases get solved, so consequentially we cover many cases that dont [sic] get solved/aired …”
